Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities
Cabinet of Curiosities was one of Guillermo del Toro’s ultimate passion projects. He carefully curated the writers and directors for this Horror anthology project, and was incredibly hands-on every step of the campaign.
It was such a privilege to work directly with him, and earn his trust for this special project.
The Campaign
Crafting Marketing Campaigns for Anthologies can be tricky without series-long characters or storylines for the audience to connect with.
But we had a secret weapon: Guillermo del Toro himself was willing to be the voice and (literal) face of the campaign.
I pitched an idea to have the art be a bisected cross-section of Guillermo’s face, with elements from the show placed inside the cavity.
My favorite part of this campaign element is that we constructed his head as a 3D model, meaning we could create a detailed motion version.
Additionally, to showcase the different episodes, we created eight individual Teaser Trailers and Posters. I love that each of these is able to show the unique mood and aesthetic of these incredibly unique and amazing stories.
